# Overview

Task-oriented guidance for prompt-led still-image edits, compatible settings, output review, credits, privacy, rights, and troubleshooting.

Civon provides a browser-based workflow for editing existing photographs and illustrations with a prompt. Upload supported references, describe an intended change, choose currently available settings, check the credit quote, generate a still image, and review it before downloading.

Use this guide for background changes, distraction removal, lighting directions, style exploration, reference composition, or scene extension. These are editing requests to explore; results may change details you wanted to keep.

## Choose a starting point

* Read the quickstart to prepare an input and make a first request.
* Use the editing guide to describe a change and identify details to inspect.
* Use the review checklist before sharing or using an output.
* Check capabilities, account requirements, credits, privacy, and rights when planning a task.
* Use troubleshooting when an input or setting is unavailable or a result misses the goal.

This documentation concerns the still-image editor. Civon's other image and video workflows have separate routes and constraints.

## Product source

Open the current [Civon AI Image Editor](https://civon.ai/image-editor) to check available options and quotes. The live interface controls dynamic model and account choices; this guide does not fix their availability or cost.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://ai-photo-editor.gitbook.io/civon-ai-image-editor/overview.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
